This current affair show, live on stage, is a provocative, insightful, and witty evening with international human rights judge and barrister Geoffrey Robertson KC.
Geoffrey Robertson will analyse the current Australian and global politics, the current international turmoil, explain how fake news distorts democracy, what is really happening to the royal family, and his calls for Australian constitutional regeneration.
He will explain what is happening to Julian Assange, how to stop the rich from inheriting the world, and the thinking behind ‘Bad People – and How to Be Rid of Them.’
The show will give an insight into his life and famous cases and his crusade to restore cultural property from museums around the world to the people from whom it was stolen.
About Geoffrey Robertson:
Geoffrey Robertson AO KC is a barrister, author and one-time host of “Geoffrey Robertson’s Hypotheticals” on the ABC. He is founder and head of Doughty Street Chambers; now the largest human rights practice in Europe; where he has been mentor to Amal Clooney, Jen Robinson, Keir Starmer and others.
Robertson was born and bred in Sydney. A Rhodes scholarship took him to England where he is now based, and he holds dual citizenship. He is a Master of the Middle Temple and a visiting professor at the New College of Humanities. His autobiography, “Rather His Own Man – In Courts with Tyrants, Tarts and Troublemakers” was published by Penguin/Random House in 2018.
From his outspoken leadership of students in the 60s to his work fighting for the lives of death row inmates, Geoffrey Robertson’s career has been marked by courage, determination and fierce independence. He was involved in the prosecution of General Pinochet and Hastings Banda and in the defence of Salman Rushdie, Mike Tyson, Julian Assange and Lula (former president of Brazil). Among much else, he secured Yulia Tymoshenko’s release from prison in Ukraine, exposed the Medellin Cartel’s gun-running in the Caribbean and helped restore democracy in Fiji. He is credited with changing the way we think about human rights, notably through his book “Crimes Against Humanity”.
- How long is the show?
The show will start at 8pm in Brisbane and 7:30pm in all other cities. It will run for approximately 2 hours, plus there will be a 20min interval.
- How much are tickets?
Law dictates that ticket prices quoted must include the various fees and charges added by ticketing companies; and these fees vary from venue to venue. As a guide, tickets range between $85 to $155 for the best seats in the house – Premium Tickets (plus the aforementioned fees).

There will be no Afterlife Club for this tour.
- Will Geoffrey Robertson sign books after the show?
No, but signed books can be purchased in the foyer of the theatres.

- How do tickets work for previously postponed shows?
Official tickets for postponed shows are still valid. Your e-ticket/s should reflect the new event date, but if you require tickets to be re-sent, please contact the relevant ticketing agency for assistance (Ticketek in Adelaide & Perth. QTix in Brisbane).
- Do I need to wear a mask?
While wearing masks is not mandatory during the show, it would be appreciated if audience members did wear masks within the theatre to reduce the angst of those attending, as well as to help protect themselves and those around them.
